The Ghor Mines and Petroleum Department has announced the discovery and registration of 25 new mines since the beginning of this year. Mawlavi Abdul Hakim Akhundzada, the head of Ghor’s department, revealed this significant development to a reporter from Bakhtar News Agency.
According to Akhundzada, these mines were identified by the department’s technical team in collaboration with provincial leadership across Ghor’s districts. He noted that six of the newly discovered mines have already been block-assigned, with contracts expected to be finalized soon.
In addition to the new discoveries, the Ghor Mining Department has signed contracts with domestic companies for the extraction of various minerals this year. These include lead and zinc from the first block in Tulak district and the third block in Shahrak district, as well as travertine stone from Zalincha in Tulak district and gypsum from Dolina and Oyan in the same district.
