At least 21 people were killed and 38 others were injured in a traffic incident involving three vehicles in southern Helmand province on Sunday, officials said.
The incident took place on the Herat-Kandahar highway in Yakchal area of Gershak district of Helmand.
Helmand Traffic Department officials said that a bus was traveling from Herat to Kabul when it first collided with a motorcycle and then with a tank truck.
According to them, two people on the motorcycle, three people on the tank truck and 16 bus passengers died. 38 bus passengers were injured, 11 of them seriously.
