At least 40 people have been wounded and one killed as a passenger bus flipped over in northern Baghlan province, an official said on Monday.
The accident occurred on the Kunduz-Baghlan highway in the Gardab area of Baghlan-i-Markazi district on Sunday night, the provincial traffic department head said.
Col. Mohammad Nabi Ghanizada told Pajhwok Afghan News the ill-fated bus fell into a river after veering off the road. He said one person was killed and another injured.
But Kunduz Zonal Hospital official Mohammad Naeem Mangal said they had received 40 injured individuals from the accident site. “All the injured are in stable condition.”
