Former lawmaker and Wolesi Jirga candidate Baidar Zazai was wounded in a gun attack in Kabul on Thursday, his son said.
Agha Jan Baidar Zazai told Pajhwok Afghan News the attack on his father occurred in the Shah Shaheed locality of the 8th police district at around 11:00am.
Jan added the gunmen, along with their accomplices, managed to escape on motorcycles. After a while, police reached the scene and started investigations into the incident.
He took his father to the Sardar Mohammad Dawood Khan Hospital in injured condition. The ex-lawmaker’s condition is said to be stable.
Abdul Hai Dilawar, the 8th police district chief, has refused talking to Pajhwok, referring this reporter to Kabul police spokesman Basir Mujahid.
When approached for comments, Basir Mujahid said he was unaware of the incident.
