Norway ready to host intra-Afghan talks

Norwegian deputy foreign minister Audun Halvorsen has expressed Oslo’s readiness to host intra-Afghan talks, a statement said on Saturday.

The statement from the Chief Executive Office said the Norwegian deputy foreign minister met CEO Abdullah Abdullah yesterday (Saturday) at the Sapedar Palace.

Abdullah thanked Halvorsen for his country’s continued support to Afghanistan and his presence in Kabul on the important day, when a peace agreement was signed between the US and Taliban in Qatar.

Halvorsen said his country stood with the people of Afghanistan on this important day and renewed Oslo’s support to intra-Afghan talks.

The Norway deputy foreign minister hoped all sides would carefully deal with the changing situation and get maximum advantage of the peace opportunity.
