Following recent political changes in Afghanistan, political and economic relations with India have nearly come to a standstill. This situation is in stark contrast to the past decades, during which both countries enjoyed strong and trustworthy relations. Currently, the Afghan interim government is keen on reestablishing official relations and interactions with the entire world, particularly with neighboring countries and India.

The relationship between Afghanistan and India has always been considered crucial for regional stability and development. India, being a powerful economic and political country in the region, benefits from good relations with Afghanistan. Over the past two and a half decades, numerous Afghan youth have pursued education in India, and millions of other Afghans have traveled to India for medical treatment. Afghans view India as a good friend and partner, and thus, rebuilding and strengthening these relations is a significant matter for both nations.

The new Afghan interim government is striving to solidify its stance and legitimacy on the global stage. In this regard, India’s support and cooperation are very important. Afghans hope that India will soon resume its relations with Afghanistan and, as in the past, will support the Afghan interim government and nation, ensuring the continuation of mutual benefits and exchanges.

On the other hand, India needs to clarify its stance considering the current situation in Afghanistan and work collaboratively with the new interim government. Both the Afghan people and the interim government are ready to establish comprehensive relations with India. Given the necessity of international cooperation for Afghanistan’s progress and stability, India can play a significant role in this process.

Thus, Afghans hope that India will reconsider its policies towards Afghanistan and swiftly reestablish relations with the Afghan interim government, enabling the activation of mutual benefits and exchanges between the two countries once again. This will ensure regional stability and development.

Currently, the relationship between Afghanistan and India is at a stage of review and strengthening. Both countries can take advantage of this opportunity to create a better future for their people. Ultimately, it is crucial for India to restore its relations with Afghanistan and jointly play a constructive role in the region’s development.
