Four people have been arrested in connection to the Sherabad incident in the Qarabagh district of southern Ghazni province, an official said on Sunday.
Governor spokesman Mohammad Arif Noori told Pajhwok Afghan News a list of suspected individuals was submitted to police and the arrest had been made on the bases of the list.
He said one individual was arrested from Kabul, one from Ghazni City and two from the Qarabagh district.
Earlier, hundreds of enraged people have blocked the Kabul-Kandahar highway over the past few days to protest civilian deaths blamed on gunmen in uniform in Qarabagh district.
The protest erupted after two people including a child were killed by a number of armed men, who attacked a house in Shirabad area of Qarabagh district ten days back. Angered by the deaths, hundreds of residents of Qarabagh blocked the Kabul-Kandahar highway in their area and Ghazni City.
Government delegation has often visited the protestors but was unable to satisfy them.
