Trade volume Increases between Afghanistan and Iran

The Afghan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has said that given the ease of trade with Iran, the trade volume between Afghanistan and its neighbor continues to increase. 

Pakistan’s Foreign Office said the country does not regard Iran, India and Afghanistan’s endeavor to use Iranian southeastern port of Chabahar for bilateral trade as an alliance against the country and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Chabahar could replace Karachi as country’s key port

The Ministry of Commerce and Industries (MoCI) on Monday said Chabahar port, in south eastern Iran, could become Afghanistan’s primary sea port as it is only 550km from Afghanistan – opposed to Pakistan’s Karachi port which is over 800km from the country’s closest border.

The biggest industrial park, Green Industries, that has been established by an Afghan trader in Kabul’s Deh Sabz district, will be inaugurated within a month.

The Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Martyrs and Disabled (MoLSAMD) said Saturday that $250 million USD will be allocated towards the implementation of a Women's Economic Empowerment Program over the next five years. 

Gov’t to build two more dams on Harirod River

Foreign investors to get visas on arrival at airport

Foreign traders and investors will be facilitated with visa-on-arrival at the Hamid Karzai International Airport, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says.

The Transport Ministry said on Sunday President Ashraf Ghani has issued a decree banning Pakistani trucks from entering Afghanistan.

The ministry said the trucks will only be allowed up to the border crossing. 

The deteriorating relations between the United States and Iran, coupled with the threat of return of sanction regime, have once again put India in a fix.
