Afghan exports up by 27% in 2017

Afghanistan's exports rose by 21 percent to $723 million in 2017, according to official data.


In 2016, exports value was $596 million, while in 2015 it was $580 million.

However, while exports increased in 2017, imports also surged from $6.5 billion in 2016 to $7 billion in 2017.

Ajmal Abdul Rahimzai, a spokesman for Finance Ministry, said that the country’s national revenue increased to 170 billion afghanis, which shows an increase of 3 percent compared to last year.

He said that Afghan economy grew 2.6 percent in 2017 fiscal year.
