Foreign Minister Muttaqi Meets his Qatari Counterpart in Doha

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, met with Qatar Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani today, Monday in Doha.

In a press release from the country’s Foreign Ministry, the emphasis was placed on the close and brotherly ties shared between Afghanistan and Qatar. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani expressed his satisfaction with the progress of Afghanistan’s ties with its regional neighbors, mainly highlighting the significance of trade between the two countries.

During the meeting, Minister Muttaqi expressed his gratitude for Qatar’s invitation and acknowledged the country’s vital role in Afghanistan’s foreign policy. He credited Qatar for its contributions in fostering Afghanistan’s connections with the international community and noted that diplomatic relations could be further strengthened through increased engagement.

Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi also urged Qatari investments in Afghanistan’s development and trade sectors, advocating for enhanced cooperation to create more bilateral trade opportunities. The productive discussions underscore both countries’ commitment to deepening their partnership and promoting mutual growth.
