Mohammad Ismail Faiz, Deputy Minister for Housing at the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing, stated during a meeting with Chinese investors that Afghanistan is in urgent need of both domestic and foreign investments across multiple sectors.
According to the ministry, Linbo Zhu, a Chinese investor, expressed China’s readiness to invest in Afghanistan’s housing construction sector. He requested close cooperation from the Ministry of Urban Development to facilitate this investment.
The Chinese side declared, “If suitable land is allocated to us, we are prepared to invest up to $100 million in the shortest possible time.”
Deputy Minister Faiz emphasized that the need for housing in Afghanistan is more acute than in many other sectors and confirmed that his ministry is fully prepared to provide all necessary support to interested investors.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to hold a follow-up session for detailed discussions on the proposed investment.
