Afghan Products to Be Exhibited in China, Uzbekistan: MoCI

Exhibitions will be held in China and Uzbekistan to display domestic Afghan products, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry said.  

Speaking at an exhibition in Kabul, the acting Minister of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) Nooruddin Azizi said that efforts are underway to increase the export of domestic products abroad.

“We support in every area, so we that we will not be a consumer country but will have our own production and export,” he said.

Azizi said that between 69 to 76 factories are currently operating in Afghanistan.

“When you reach economic independence you have political independence, modernized agriculture and education,” said Shirbaz Kameen, head of the Afghanistan Chamber of Industry and Mines.

Meanwhile, the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) called on the Islamic Emirate to create a permanent exhibition to boost markets for domestic products.

“The ACCI should take action in cooperation with the Islamic Emirate to find land to hold a permanent exhibition,” said Khanjan Alokozai, a member of the ACCI.

The industrial factory owners who displayed their products at the exhibition said that such exhibitions are effective to find markets for the products.

There were many women entrepreneurs who participated in the exhibition and displayed their products.

“This exhibition is for four days. This is good marketing for our products,” said Mohammad Waris, a businessperson.

“This is a good exhibition because we display our products to our clients,” said Mohammad Younus, an industrial.
